Glückliches Oktoberfest

Happy Oktoberfest!!!  Dave and Ann were the hosts for our October Supper Club and it was the perfect time for an Oktoberfest Celebration!  A wonderful time was had by all as we indulged in German delicacies😄

This is what we all made;
Ann and Dave....Appetizers of assorted German Cheeses and Meatballs, a variety of German Beers, a special Raspberry Beer Cooler, German Riesling and Jäger-Schnitzel (chicken) with Mushroom Sauce
Suzy and Steve... Blaukraut (red cabbage) side dish 
Jennifer and Neil... Potato Leek Soup ***see below for recipe, and Pumpernickel bread
Theresa and Nathan... German Cucumber Salad ***see below for recipe
Ellis and Grey... Bacon Lovers Potato Salad (with regular and turkey bacon for those of us who do not eat pork😘)  ***See below for recipe

The house was very festive with decorations and some of us even dressed for the occasion!

Everyone attended and as always we had plenty of stimulating conversations

The food was outstanding!  Yummy and filling for an Autumn night

And a funny side note from Ann about our dessert that evening;

"I found out how our apple strudel pastry dessert became a cake. When I placed my order with the bakery, I said “apple strudel”, but they heard “apple streusel”. An honest albeit delicious mistake!"
